During construction, Gary and Renée worked closely together on all aspects of the business. So, when it was time to give the winery a name, it was a no-brainer...Gar-Nay's Winery it would be.​

ABOUT US

Gar-Nay's Winery, LLC was established January 2015 by Gary Grose. Prior to, Gary owned, managed, and worked at G&R's Body Shop for over thirty years. During the last 10 of those 30+ years, he took interest in homemade wine making using the fruits he grew. He truly enjoyed sharing the results with family and friends.​​

After a devastating fire to his business in December 2011, Gary needed to either change direction or continue as a mechanic. Therefore, after much thought, consideration, and research (plus the encouragement from those who truly relished in his wines), concept of the winery began. His daughter, Renée, was recruited to assist and be a part of his journey.

​​Development of the winery started in May 2013. Gary entered his first amateur wine competition at the Lorain County Fair in August 2013. He was surprised to receive a 3rd place ribbon for his Black Raspberry wine. November 2013, Gary received a Silver Medal for his potato wine from the American Wine Society's National Amateur Wine Competition. He knew then that his wines were deserving for others to appreciate.​

​​Being in business for just over a year, Gar-Nay's Winery was thrilled to be the recipient of Funcoast.com Readers' Choice Awards 2016 Best Winery.

In March 2018, the winery received Third Place Best Winery from Sandusky Register Readers' Choice Awards.
